Spent my vacation on daddy's shoulders

We went down to San Diego for a few days this past week.  It was somewhere that neither of us had been before.  We knew we would get some much needed sunshine as well as some good quality family time! We were also able to spend some time with my aunt/cousins and their kids one evening, which was great! One of the funnest things about being a parent is sharing new experiences with your kids (I probably say this in every blog entry).

During our trip Keaton was on daddy's shoulders everywhere we went! He was very happy up there for hours and wanted nothing to do with his stroller.  I observed the other little kids hanging out peacefully in their strollers and was a bit jealous...

We went to the San Diego Zoo and it was amazing how close we were able to get to the animals.  I was very disappointed because I really wanted to see the koala, my favorite animal, but the exhibit was being remodeled.  The panda was the most popular exhibit.

We were able to see this animal, which we had just watched a TV show on the night before.  Some crazy lady had one as a pet. They are the largest rodent....can't remember what they are called!

Keaton got to enjoy some fun at the beach.  He was very untested in the sand and everything in the sand...I don't even thing he noticed the water.

Since I never get pictures of Keaton and I, here are a couple.

Every morning Keaton and daddy went out to breakfast and let me sleep in a little. Here are a few pics of us eating out (which we rarely do now with a little one). He seems to be favoring his left hand.

Keatons' favorite part of the trip was probably playing in the bed.

Here is the best family pic we were able to get! Keaton, you look so serious.

And here is the little guy on our way home, right before the 45+minute meltdown.  Good think he is cute or they may have thrown us off the plane.  Traveling with a little one definitely changes the definition of "vacation". We were all pretty tired after this one, which is a good sign of a fun trip
