BFF's

Manny has had this teddy bear since he was a little puppy and uses it like a pacifier, sucking on the back of the bear's head.  He is VERY routine and ALWAYS grabs this bear after he eats and drags it around the house sucking on it.  He is quite protective of it and really doesn't like anyone else handling it.  My mom actually gave the bear to me in college and I was going to give it to Goodwill a few years ago but TJ thought it would make a good dog toy.  It sure has!

Earlier today after Manny's early dinner, he grabbed his bear and joined me and Keaton in the family room.  Keaton decided he wanted the bear, which is reasonable since it does look like his other stuffed animals (minus the gross dog slobber).  Keaton thought it was SO funny that Manny wasn't intersted in sharing his bear with him.  Keaton probably chased the dog around for at least 45 minutes playing tug-o-war over the bear.

Then they took a break for snacks.  Keaton was nice enough to share with Manny and their friendship became mutual again!

Easter

We had a really fun Easter this year.  It was a beautiful sunny day which doesn't happen often in Seattle this time of year.

Keaton got to participate in his first Easter egg hunt at a party they had at my work.  He was very, very excited when he opened one of the eggs and found candy inside!

Keaton and I spent a really fun afternoon making a bunch of Easter goodies for the people we were going to spend Easter with.  But I left the extra candy out and when we came home later that afternoon from running errands the dog had helped himself to A LOT of Reese's peanut butter cups (and turned a fun afternoon into a not so fun one).  I guess he doesn't like Twix or Swedish fish because he didn't touch those.  Luckily the vet said milk chocolate isn't that bad for dogs.  He was fine besides an upset stomach.  Manny can be so unpredictable, sometimes food is left out and he doesn't touch it, other times he eats the most random things!

We spent Easter day out at Grandpa's exploring the great outdoors!

Here is Keaton this Easter...and last Easter.

Future Stunt Man?

My guess at age one is that Keaton will be a stunt man when he grows up! I asked TJ this morning and he said a musician.  I'm not sure either are very safe careers.

Here are some pictures of him practicing his stunt man moves.  He went to a birthday party at The Little Gym this past weekend and was a total maniac! All the other kids were fairly calm but he was fearless.  Last night he decided it would be a good idea to stand on his tricycle.  He was standing up on the seat without holding onto the handle bars but I couldn't get a picture of that, but was able to get this picture this morning.  This is the tricycle that he completely broke the handle off last week and it has to be fixed by his very handy daddy.

Spent my vacation on daddy's shoulders

We went down to San Diego for a few days this past week.  It was somewhere that neither of us had been before.  We knew we would get some much needed sunshine as well as some good quality family time! We were also able to spend some time with my aunt/cousins and their kids one evening, which was great! One of the funnest things about being a parent is sharing new experiences with your kids (I probably say this in every blog entry).

During our trip Keaton was on daddy's shoulders everywhere we went! He was very happy up there for hours and wanted nothing to do with his stroller.  I observed the other little kids hanging out peacefully in their strollers and was a bit jealous...

We went to the San Diego Zoo and it was amazing how close we were able to get to the animals.  I was very disappointed because I really wanted to see the koala, my favorite animal, but the exhibit was being remodeled.  The panda was the most popular exhibit.

We were able to see this animal, which we had just watched a TV show on the night before.  Some crazy lady had one as a pet. They are the largest rodent....can't remember what they are called!

Keaton got to enjoy some fun at the beach.  He was very untested in the sand and everything in the sand...I don't even thing he noticed the water.

Since I never get pictures of Keaton and I, here are a couple.

Every morning Keaton and daddy went out to breakfast and let me sleep in a little. Here are a few pics of us eating out (which we rarely do now with a little one). He seems to be favoring his left hand.

Keatons' favorite part of the trip was probably playing in the bed.

Here is the best family pic we were able to get! Keaton, you look so serious.

And here is the little guy on our way home, right before the 45+minute meltdown.  Good think he is cute or they may have thrown us off the plane.  Traveling with a little one definitely changes the definition of "vacation". We were all pretty tired after this one, which is a good sign of a fun trip
